My good friend, singer Julia Stone, has just released the first song titled ‘Let’s Forget All the Things We Say’ from her forthcoming album ‘Day of Horns’ due for release in May. I had the pleasure of again working with Julia at my Ivy salon on the eve of her departure to L.A. to shoot this fabulous video. As you’ll see by clicking on the video’s YouTube link below, the video was shot in black and white on the streets of downtown LA and I wanted to give Julia a sexy revamp for it. I did this by cutting a long fringe and, following her cheekbone, I reduced the length, layering with a seamless slicing technique. I was inspired by 60′s French chic echoing Charlotte Gainsborough. I balayaged the front layers with muted blonde tones and the fade of the colour ‘sang’ once filmed in grainy black & white. This is my third collaboration with Julia on her new videos coming out this year, directed by her good friend and mine, Jessie Hill. (For more information on Julia visit www.juliastonemusic.com). Bye for now, B x
