Hair-dinkum, I love Australia Day!

Turning my mind to all good things Australian today, and given I always love the Australia Day Awards, I thought I’d present one of my own…So for her indigenous beauty, shy glamour and professionalism when I have had the pleasure to work with her (…drum roll…) I present

the Brad Ngata ‘Hair-Dinkum Australia Day Award’

 to stunning model

SAMANTHA HARRIS

I remember quite some years ago now when I first met Samantha at a designer’s model call  for their Fashion Week show. I think it was probably Samantha’s first because she was incredibly shy and quite – but enormously patient. Last year when I worked with her at Australian Fashion Week as L’Oreal Professionnel Hair Director for Little Joe Woman I recognised that she had transformed that shyness into a cool, understated confidence…a joy to work with! I suppose, too, I feel great empathy with Samantha being an indigenous Maori and humble Brissy-raised-boy made good in the often cut-throat and fickle world of fashion. It’s a real credit to Samatha’s hard work and beautiful disposition that she is now at the top of her league.

On ya, Samantha!

To see the hair I directed for Little Joe Woman with Samantha, a great site is www.sassisam.com …(“so fun, so girlie, so you”)! To go straight to the story and a great how-to by me on creating the raw textured hair style that Samantha wore in the show, simply click on the picture of Samantha above and you’ll go straight there!

Finally, let me and the Brad Ngata team wish you a bonza Australia Day! Love ya, mean it, B x

Thanks Brad, I agree with you whole heartedly. I remember styling her hair for a Vogue/GQ show last year and being suprised at how easy and patient she was to work with. Such a superstar and nice to boot! @smittenhair
