Ngata’s prestigious accolades include having won the hairdressing industry’s most highly prized title, Hair Expo ‘Australian Hairdresser of the Year’ for two consecutive years (2005 & 2006); the consumer media awards of ‘Sydney’s Best Hairdresser’ for two consecutive years (through The Sydney Morning Herald’s ‘The Sydney Magazine’ Readers’ Poll); and ‘Australian Hair Stylist of the Year’ at the 2004 Cleo Maybelline Australian Fashion Awards (awarded by the beauty and fashion industries). In 2005 he was included in the Sunday Telegraph magazine’s ‘Hot 100 List’ of Australia’s most influential style-setters and trends, and most recently in 2012, he was listed in The Daily Telegraph’s ‘Top Twenty Most Stylish Sydney Men’.

Aside from servicing a loyal salon clientele in both salons, Ngata is in demand by leading fashion designers, media, celebrities, TV appearances, and hairdresser education. He has worked on magazines like Vogue, Oyster, Gracia; celebrities including Miranda Kerr, Jennifer Hawkins, Daniel Johns, Portia de Rossi, and Sneaky Sound System’s Miss Connie; featured on TV shows including Make Me a Supermodel, Australia’s Next Top Model, The Boss is Coming to Dinner, Risking It All, and Trinny & Susanna Makeover Australia; and works interstate and internationally as L’Oreal Professional Ambassador. Much sought after by designers for parade direction he has worked with leading Australian labels like Ksubi, Fleur Wood, Dion Lee, Sass & Bide, and Wheels & Doll Baby, as well as working as Hair Director at Australian Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, ‘G’Day L.A., L’Oreal Melbourne & Perth Fashion Festivals, as well as being chosen Director for Myer bi-annual Designer Collections.
