 Brad Ngata Hair Direction

DOWNTOWN

UPTOWN

“A client doesn't just get a cut and colour at Brad Ngata Hair Direction”, says Ngata proudly. “They have a totally unique experience”.

“One step into either of the Brad Ngata Hair Direction salons and you know that you're not in an ordinary salon”.

The 'DownTown' Darlo salon:
The shingle out the front exclaims: “You're the star, sweetheart!” and this Darlinghurst salon certainly lives up to that promise. Unlike other salons, there's no battery-hen formula here. Client stations are limited so as to afford privacy and a feeling of intimacy. Throughout the two adjoining terrace houses full length Philippe Stark mirrors are lifted above the floor by white 'stages'. Sitting in front of such beautiful mirrors, one can't help but feel a sense of their own 'star quality', a sense of extravagance by the amount of space devoted to them alone. Space that could have been devoted to maximising the number of stylists' stations has rather been utilised for chill-out lounges and social table areas where clients are encouraged to relax with their friends. Punctuating the space is the signature pattern of Marimekko and a host of whimsical and quirky touches that bring playfulness and soul to the place: fireplaces become gardens; fish tanks are suspended from the ceiling; refreshments are served from tables held up by colourful gnomes; iconic images representing every philosophy add comfort, humanity and a spiritual dimension to the space. Surprisingly, with so much to stimulate a client, they often comment that they find it peaceful and refreshingly down to earth.

The 'Uptown' IVY salon:
There's no cooler place to hang out in Sydney than the Ivy precinct, so it was only natural that 'the king of cool', Brad Ngata, was the chosen hair brand from scores of top salon names who vied for this prestige location in the heart of Sydney's CBD. If you fancy having your hair done in truly sumptuous surroundings, this is a cut above! Everything here oozes style: from the French-boudoir-inspired salon designed by acclaimed architect Scott Weston, to the Fleur Wood designed staff uniforms and the L'Oreal Professional and Kerastase hair products that are used and recommended. Even tea and coffee is served in real porcelain tea cups! Parisian opulence meets theatrical stage set to inspire fantasies of Madame de Pompadour herself revelling in conversation with Marilyn Monroe among the Swarovski-studded chairs, pink velvet drapes and bevelled mirrors. This is your dream place to have Brad and his magical team cut, colour or style your hair to perfection. You can even pop in for an express blow-dry before your big grand entrance at Ivy!
